Astghik (Astłik, Asdghig) is the goddess of Love in the Armenian pantheon. Her name means "little star" and she corresponds to the planet Venus, as do many other ancient goddesses of love from the Near East, such as Aphrodite, Inanna, Astarte and Venus. She is known as the lover and consort of Vahagn, warrior and god of thunder, although she was once known as a supreme goddess and creatrix in her own right.
